How To: Install side markers

By Tucker

This Page will give you step-by-step instructions on how to install Side Markers on your delSol

Step 1: Get all of your tools and supplies.
a. (2) side markers
b. Duck tape
c. Masking tape
d. Dermal w/ snake extension- Cutting pads
e. Wire Cutters- Extra wire
f. + shaped screw driver
g. Wire connectors - The kind that you splice a new wire into an old wire.

Step 2: Place duck tape all around the area you are going to cut. This will help protect the paint, incase of an accident.

Step 3: Place Masking take over the duck tape. This will give you something to write on.
Step 4: This part is up to you! You need to find the place you want to have your side markers. I lined mine up with the center of my front turn signal.
Step 5: Once you found the spot for your marker, take a pen and the rubber liner and trace the hole on the tape.
Step 6: Use the dermal and start cutting.
A quick note: Always cut the hole to small. It's better to have a hole to small then one to big...!!!
Step 7: Test fit the marker, if the hole is to small, make it bigger...If the hole is to big, well you should have read the note on "Step 6".

Step 8: Remove the tape.
Step 9: Add wire to the side marker, if needed.
Step 10: Remove the mud skirt. (The rubber thing in the wheel well.)
Step 11: Remove the front turn signals.
Step 12: Pull the wire through the hole for the front turn signals.
Step 13: Splice the side marker into the front turn signals.

Note:
There is two ways you can splice the wires...
Black = Ground
Green w/ yellow stripe = Flash
Red w/ Black stripe = Solid

Step 14: Test the side marker, make sure they work. (I just turned on the Four-Way-Flashers)
Step 15: Screw the side markers in.
Step 16: Screw the mud skirt back on.
Step 17: Install your front turn signals....
Step 18: Make sure everything still works....!
Final Step : Pimp them bad boys....!!!!
