How to change the indicator lights for the AUX, CC, and Rear Defroster. |
| 1. Pull out the compartment (we'll call this piece A) of the light you want to change, i.e, AUX & CC or DEFROST & HAZARDS. They pull right out. 2. Now, take out the section (we'll call this piece B) where the light you want to change is. You will see 4 tabs holding in the piece, two on bottom, two on top. Push these in and the piece pulls out through the front. 3. Once you have the piece (B) out, look on the bottom. You will see two plastic screws, one grey, one black. These are where the bulds are located for the indicators. a. The grey screw is for the actually word light b. The black screw is for the light that sits nect to the word. 4. Turn the screw about 1/4 turn counter-clockwise, very slowly as these can easily be stripted. 5. The screw will come out with the buld attached inside of it. You will see that the bulb just simply sits inside the screw with its pos and neg wires wrapped around the screw for contact. 6. Depending on the light you are changing, some have a color cover on them. It is just rubber and pulls right off. Be careful not to lose it. 7. Take out the buld by unwrapping the wires of the bulb. Replace with the new one. 8. Put back on the rubber cover is there is one and carefully screw it back in to the main piece. On some pieces, there is a little triangle marked where the straight slot of the screw is to line up with. 9. Slide the piece (B) back into the main piece (A). 10. Now slide the entire piece (A) back into the dash. All done. |
