listed as Profane). Why?
- When I run a Search, I see (or more; not shown). Where
are the rest of the Members Pages?
- How do I link to my Members Page from other web sites?
- Note your TSI Membership Number. This is NOT the same as the database record ID that the web site software assigns to your
detail page! It is in the header of your profile, something like Member Detail #0000. That #0000 (or whatever)
is your TSI Membership #.
- Put THAT number into the following URL template: http://www.teamdelsol.com/members/detail.php?mm=_0000
- It is extremely important to use that _ (underscore) character between the mm= and 0000 portions!
- While most websites prohibit this kind of deep-linking (because a link like this normally bypasses framesets and other
Session control mechanisms), we permit THIS linking mechanism (USE THE UNDERSCORE!) :)
- How do I edit my Members Page?
- Visit the main Team Sol International web site (http://www.teamdelsol.com/),
and click into the Members Section.
- Locate your Members Page.
- If you know which Members Page Index you are on, click it. Then
click your own Members Page from the Index.
- If not, use the Search to locate your Members Page. Type your
name (as it appears on your Members Page) into the Members Search
field and click the Search button. When your Members Page is in
the resulting list, click it.
- In the lower-right corner of the page (you may need to scroll down
to the bottom), click the "Last updated" note. This will
take you to the Logon page.
- Type your Edit Code into the EDIT CODE: field. Please remember your
Edit Code is CaSE-seNsITivE. i.e.: Password, PASSWORD, password, and
PassWord are all DIFFERENT Edit Codes.
- Select the SECTION: you wish to change from the list available.
- Click the Submit button.
- If your Edit Code is accepted, you will be presented with a form.
Follow the on-screen instructions to make changes.
- If your Edit Code is rejected, you will be taken back to your Members
Page.
- What is my Edit Code?
- When the new Members Section was created (June 2001), ALL Members
were issued completely random Edit Codes (with no duplicates).
- Also, every new Member Application (from the Join page) is automatically
assigned a completely random Edit Code. This new Edit Code is automatically
E-mailed to the new member at the E-mail address provided on the
application, along with some instructions.
- To request your new Edit Code, please do the following:
- Return to your EDIT CODE: entry form (click the Last updated
... link on the bottom-right of your Members Page).
- Click the link at the end of the "If you have forgotten
your Edit Code..." line.
- Follow the on-screen Instructions.
- Your Edit Code will be automatically sent to the E-mail
address listed on your Members Page, if available.
- If there is no E-Mail address on your Members Page, you
will be prompted to fill out an Edit Code Request form.
Please fill it out in full detail and send it as instructed.
- If there is an old E-Mail address on your Members Page
that you can no longer check, click the link anyway and
follow the secondary instructions ("... use this form instead to request your Edit Code ...."). Then, fill out
the Edit Code Request form and send it.
- If the above options will not work for you, please send an
E-mail message to <membership (at) teamdelsol (dot) com>
from the E-mail address listed on your Members Page (this is
important).
- If you cannot use the same E-mail address that is listed
on your Members Page (if there isn't one, or your E-mail
address has changed), your Edit Code will be delayed while
the Membership Secretary attempts to validate your request.
- The Membership Secretary will not give Edit Codes out to just anyone.
You must be able to prove you are the authentic owner of
the Members Page you are attempting to Edit.
- The E-mail message Subject should be Team Sol Edit Code
Request.
- Include your Full Name and a contact Phone Number (in
case the Membership Secretary must authenticate your request) in the
E-mail message in addition to a friendly Edit Code Request.
- Allow up to ten days for a reply (a LOT of people are
requesting their Edit Codes). These requests will be handled
first-come, first-served.
- How do I change my Edit Code?
- You must first be able to edit your Members Page (see above).
- When you are able to edit the Profile Section of your Members
Page, do the following:
- Type the NEW Edit Code into the EDIT CODE: field. It cannot
be blank.
- Type the SAME Edit Code into the CONFIRM: field. It cannot
be blank.
- The exact spelling must be identical (and is case-sensitive)
in BOTH fields.
- Save your Profile changes.
- If your new Edit Code is rejected, you will be returned to your
Profile page with the reason.
- You will NOT receive confirmation of successful Edit Code changes.
Make sure you use an Edit Code you will remember!
- What are the different Members Page
Edit Sections for?
- Profile allows you to change the text on your Members Page for
any of the visible fields.
- Main Photo allows you to change the photo and associated thumbnail
images displayed on your Members Page and the Members Page Index
you are visible on.
- Photo Links allows you to add additional photos to your Members
Page that are hosted on a website other than http://www.teamdelsol.com/.
- How do I change the main photo on
my Members Page (or my thumbnail on the Members Index)?
- You must be able to edit your Members Page, Main Photo Section
(see above).
- Follow the on-screen Instructions to replace the Main Photo on
your Members Page (and the Thumbnail on the Members Index).
- You can use this system to upload a single photo file to your
Members Page (subsequent photo files will overwrite the prior photo
file and thumbnail).
- How do I use Photo Links?
- Photo Links are URLs which point to photo files (.jpg or .gif
only) on servers other than http://www.teamdelsol.com/.
- To add a new Photo Link, do the following:
- Identify the FULLY QUALIFIED URL to the desired Photo Link
file. You MUST include the http:// or ftp:// and the ENTIRE
domain/server/path portions of the URL.
i.e.: http://automotive.geocities.com/imports/mygeopage/mydelsol001.jpg
(this is fictitious.)
Remember URLs are extremely sensitive to typographical mistakes,
so be careful when copying it down!
- You must be able to edit your Members Page, Photo Links Section
(see above).
- Click the Add A New Photo Link button.
- Type (or paste if you copied it to your clipboard) the URL
into the New Photo Link URL: (.jpg or .gif only) field.
- Double-check the URL. Make sure it is FULLY QUALIFIED (complete
and error-free from http:// or ftp:// to .jpg or .gif).
- Click the Submit button to add this URL to your Photo Links.
- You will be taken back to the Your External Photo Links page
to see your new addition. If it worked, you will see the new
photo file. If it failed, you will not and you should edit the
bad entry to fix any mistakes.
- To change an existing Photo Link, do the following:
- Identify the FULLY QUALIFIED URL to the replacement Photo
Link file. You MUST include the http:// or ftp:// and the ENTIRE
domain/server/path portions of the URL.
i.e.: http://automotive.geocities.com/imports/mygeopage/mydelsol001.jpg
(this is fictitious.)

so be careful when copying it down!
- You must be able to edit your Members Page, Photo Links Section
(see above).
- Click the graphical edit button (
)
next to the URL you wish to change..
- Erase the old URL (if you are replacing it entirely).
- Type (or paste if you copied it to your clipboard) the new
URL into the New Photo Link URL: (.jpg or .gif only) field.
You can also change just a portion of the URL if appropriate
(i.e.: you are changing http://my.server.com/pic1.jpg to http://my.server.com/pic2.jpg).
- Double-check the URL. Make sure it is FULLY QUALIFIED (complete
and error-free from http:// or ftp:// to .jpg or .gif).
- Click the Submit button to replace this URL into your Photo
Links.
- You will be taken back to the Your External Photo Links page
to see your new change. If it worked, you will see the new photo
file. If it failed, you will not and you should edit the bad
entry to fix any mistakes.
- My Member Number changed! Why?
- The numbering system used to issue these Team Sol International
ID Numbers has been revised. It is fully automatic now.
- Your new number is permanent and cannot be changed by anyone (Team
Sol Operators included).
- Please update your signatures with the new number on other Message
Boards and any E-mail messages you send, which may contain your
old number.
- What are pending members?
- Pending Members are Members Pages not yet available on the Visible
Members Indexes or other Pages. These members will also not appear
in Search results.
- These members are mostly new Member Applications which have not
yet been accepted.
- Rarely, though, some pending Members have been hidden by Team
Sol Operators due to incompleteness or other factors (see Question
3 Section 2 above).
- When I try to Join, why do I get
"Your application has already been received. Please visit the Members
FAQ if you have questions."?
- You, or someone impersonating you, has already submitted an application
to us. Go to the Members section and perform a Search on your exact
e-mail address.
- If the Search results in 0 matches, then your application
is already pending. Do not continue to submit applications.
You must wait until we activate your membership.
- If the Search returns at least one result, check the detail
of the Member it returns; it is probably you. If it isn't, then
someone may be impersonating you. In that case, please contact
the Membership Secretary and report the possible abuse.
- You hit the Submit button too many times when you applied the
first time.
- Don't worry, we received your application the first time you
hit Submit.
- To get the most out of your on-line experience, and to help
STOP server problems and USER ERROR, NEVER, EVER HIT A SUBMIT
BUTTON MORE THAN ONCE, ANYWHERE, ON ANY WEB SITE,
unless the web site SPECIFICALLY instructs you to do so!
- Why am I required to have an E-mail
Address?
- Team Sol uses your E-mail Address to contact you regarding matters
of administration, including sending you instructions for editing
your Members Page or using other related features.
- From time-to-time, Team Sol Operators may wish to contact you
regarding events in your area, or to just make sure you are still
an active Member.
- Team Sol does not sell it's Member list to third parties and does
not contact you with promotional materials. We are not spammers,
but require E-mail to perform our administrative tasks (to keep
this site operable).
- Part of my information keeps getting
blanked-out (and listed as Profane). Why?
- Team Sol does not allow profanity on it's web pages and has written
specific code to block it. We have attempted to ensure our anti-profanity
code will not block legitimate words or phrases, but errors are
possible.
- To the best of your ability, please try to use alternative words,
phrases, or spellings in cases where the profanity blocking code
is barring legitimate words.
- When I run a Search, I see (or
more; not shown). Where are the rest of the Members Pages?
- All Searches are limited to a certain number of maximum results.
- Please keep your Search criteria as specific as you can to reduce
the possible number of matches.
